Born from the QueenEDAO project, the need for complex DAO functions emerged to keep the project's DAO alive and Growing.
The QueenEDAO project was the first one of its kind to tie it's function to real world events.
Using the Noun's successful one-auction-per-day mecanism with random NFTs generation based in traits, the project features QueenE, a fictional character inspired by Queen Elizabeth that should end when the Queen died.
Since the beginning we knew that at some point we would have to make inovations in the current DAO pattern broadly used.
How to keep the treasure growing? How to keep growing the community?
And so Sir Vin Rodrigues, QueenEDAO's blockend developer, started going nuts and build the RoyalDAO's Contracts.
To keep the QueenEDAO running and the UncommonWealth (treasury) growing, we saw no other option than launch new collections with the same tie to real world events and the same treasure.
But how to make it all integrated with the QueenE collection and the participation of the already existing owners?
Building upon the Governor solution from Openzeppelin, we created the Senate and Chancellor solution.
Imagining the collections as Members of a Senate, much like countries in a Global chamber (UN), and the owners as Senators we created a structure that can be easily imported and used to build it in a DAO that accepts votes from different token owners since their tokens are Senate Members.
The Senators are sovereign in accepting new members any time, allowing the owners of tokens from this member to start participating in the DAO.
We detail the current solution that are used today and, after, the solution proposed.
